mossly is a quiet app. it helps you remember your plants. we collect only what's necessary to make that work — and nothing more.

what we collect

you can use mossly without an account — in that case, all your data stays on your device and nothing is transmitted to our servers.

when you create an account, we store:

• your email address (used to sign in)
• your plant data — names, watering schedules, health check notes, photos you choose to add
• watering history and streak counts
• your weather location (city name and coordinates) for watering advice

what we don't collect

• we don't track your behaviour across other apps or websites
• we don't sell your data to anyone
• we don't collect advertising identifiers
• we don't store payment card details — payments are handled entirely by Apple

ai features

mossly uses AI to identify plants and run health checkups. when you photograph a plant or describe what you see, the image or description is sent to a third-party AI service to generate a response. this data is processed under Google's Privacy Policy. we do not store your images on our servers.

photos

cover photos you choose for your plants are stored on your device and, if you're signed in, synced to your account in our database. we use Pexels to suggest plant photos — your search queries are sent to Pexels' API under their Privacy Policy.

push notifications

if you enable reminders, we store your notification preference and send a daily watering reminder via our server. no personal data beyond your device's push token is used for this purpose.

third-party services

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting. data is stored in the EU. Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat — subscription management for iOS purchases. handles purchase verification with Apple. Privacy Policy
• Stripe — payment processing for web subscriptions. we never see or store your card details. Privacy Policy
• PostHog — product analytics. we track anonymised in-app events (e.g. "plant saved") to understand how the app is used. no personal data is attached to these events. Privacy Policy
• Open-Meteo — weather data for your location. no account or tracking. Terms
• Netlify — web hosting and serverless functions. Privacy Policy

data retention

your data is kept for as long as your account is active. if you delete your account, your plant data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

your rights

you can at any time:

• request a copy of your data by emailing us
• delete your account and all associated data by emailing us

children

mossly is not directed at children under 13. we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

changes to this policy

if we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. continued use of mossly after changes means you accept the updated policy.
